Cookie Policy

INTRO SECTION — WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an app. They are widely used to make platforms work, remember your preferences, and provide information to platform operators.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. Others are optional and only activated with your consent. This policy explains every cookie we use and what it does.
SECTION 1 — HOW WE USE COOKIES
We use cookies for three purposes:
- To keep the Platform running (essential cookies — always on)
- To understand how the Platform is being used and improve it (analytics cookies — off by default, require your consent)
- For marketing and retargeting (not currently in use)
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via our cookie settings page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any prior processing.
SECTION 2 — ESSENTIAL COOKIES
Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function. They cannot be switched off. They do not contain personally identifiable information beyond what is strictly necessary for your session.
2.1 Session and authentication
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Set by | Firebase Authentication (Google) |
| Purpose | Keeps you signed in to your Hoozright account across pages and sessions. |
| Data stored | An encrypted session token tied to your account. No personally identifiable information is stored in the cookie itself. |
| Expires | Session, or 30 days if you choose to stay signed in. |
2.2 Cookie preferences
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Set by | Hoozright |
| Purpose | Remembers the cookie choices you set so we do not load anything you have not agreed to. |
| Data stored | Your cookie consent choices (a yes or no record per category). |
| Expires | 12 months |
2.3 Overlay and dismissal preferences
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Set by | Hoozright |
| Purpose | Records when you dismiss a banner or overlay so you do not see it repeatedly. |
| Data stored | A flag indicating that a specific overlay has been dismissed. |
| Expires | 30 days |
SECTION 3 — ANALYTICS COOKIES
Analytics cookies are off by default. They are only activated if you opt in via our cookie settings page.
Analytics cookies help us understand how Hoozright is being used — which features get the most engagement, where users drop off, and how to improve the Platform. The data is anonymised before we see it and is never used to identify you individually.
3.1 Google Analytics
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Set by | Google (analytics.google.com) |
| Purpose | Collects anonymised usage data — page views, session duration, navigation paths, and device or browser type — so we can understand and improve the Platform. |
| Data stored | A randomly generated anonymous ID for your session. No name, email, or personally identifiable information. |
| Shared with | Google. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. |
| Expires | Up to 2 years for persistent cookies; session for others. |
You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time via our cookie settings page. Doing so will stop new analytics data from being collected. It does not delete data already collected.
SECTION 4 — MARKETING COOKIES
Hoozright does not currently use third-party marketing or retargeting cookies. We do not run third-party ad networks, and no behavioural data is shared with advertising platforms at this time.
If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and notify you before activating any marketing cookies. You will always be able to opt out.
SECTION 5 — MANAGING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how Hoozright works — in particular, essential cookies are required for sign-in and preferences to function.
| Browser | Where to find settings |
|---|---|
| Chrome | Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data |
| Firefox | Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data |
| Safari | Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data |
| Edge | Settings > Cookies and site permissions |
SECTION 6 — CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email or via an in-Platform notification. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
